About Chocolate Bayou Cowboy Church

The Chocolate Bayou Cowboy Church is a "Family Focused" church seeking to accomplish this by:

• Focusing on the faithful preaching and teaching of God's Word.
• Being a place where worship is an act of the heart based on individual and corporate response to the Word of God.
• By Being a church with an "Open Door" welcoming ALL people... Where everybody can feel like somebody... Knowing that Jesus is Lord of all.
• Teaching life skills, ministry skills, in a cowboy culture mindset while focusing on both physical and spiritual growth.
• Doing all for the equipping of the Saints for the work of the ministry and the edifying of the Body or Christ.

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

• GOD: We believe the Bible teaches there is only ONE TRUE GOD (Deuteronomy 6:4) who is the creator of the universe and everything in it (Genesis 1:1); and that He reveals Himself through creation (Romans 1:20), through scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and ultimately through Jesus Christ His Son (John 1:14).  God is absolutely sovereign, meaning that He has ultimate authority and control over all creation (Psalm 103:19).
• BIBLE: We believe the Bible (in its entirety) is the Divinely inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 2:16-17).
• MAN:  We believe the Bible teaches all men (humans) are created by God in His image, and He created them male and female (Genesis 1:26-27).
• SALVATION: We believe the Bible teaches due to the fall of man into sin (Genesis 3) that ORIGINAL SIN (fallen nature) and its consequences were passed down to all mankind from that point forward, resulting in the fact that all men are siners and in need of salvation.  (Romans 5:12-15, Roman 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9-13).  We believe the Bible teaches, that we are saved by God's grace through faith (and faith alone) in Jesus Christ and are God's workmanship, created for good works (Ephesians 2:8-10) and as God's children every thing you do and every choice you make should be determined by your answer to the question: "Does it bring glory to God?" (1 Corinthians 10:31, Matthew 5:16, 1 Corinthians 6:20).
• CHURCH:  We believe the Bible teaches that the church is first and foremost A COMMUNITY OF BELIEVERS devoted to teaching, fellowship, and prayer (Acts 2:42-47). The church is to be a place for WORSHIP that is God-focused (Hebrews 10:24-25) and it should be MISSION MINDED (Matthew 28:18-20)
• FAMILY:  We believe the family to be the cornerstone of society and serves as God's first and primary institution through which He accomplishes His redemptive plan and His purpose in the world. (Genesis 2:26-28)
